Jaarmarktcross

The 2nd round of the GVA Trofee series went down today in Niel, Belgium. Wellens won it, ahead of a strong Lars Boom and Nys. Lots of mud and running in this one. Boom had the lead on and looked like he was riding to the win on the last lap, but then he flatted. Bummer. Still, he held on for 2nd place. The winner had this to say (via butchered, but all the more interesting, internet translation):
It was a complete heavy game today. Tree [that's how it translates Boom] was really a complete strong competitor. We both has gone wrong and was both dead to the finish. I was just in the last turning certainly of the triumph, because with Lars weet you never. I am now LEADER in the GVA trophy and will that position of course defend. Simply in each manche my extrême best do, decided Wellens.
