Weekend Preview: E3 Prijs & Brabantse Pijl

The FGBC Classics Pool continues on Saturday with the E3 Prijs Vlaanderen. Apparently, it's named after a highway--the E3. Tom Boonen has won this one for the past 4 consecutive years. Can he make it 5? Team OYNG and the White Russians are hoping so. Previews from CN and PdC. Startlists here. See also the official website, which has details on the course details and each of the cobbled climbs.

And hot on its heels comes the hillier Brabantse Pijl--the Brabant Arrow--on Sunday. It's the final tune-up before the Tour of Flanders next weekend, so expect a deeper field of participants. This one's been dominated by Oscar Freire for the past three years. Starlists here. Preview at PdC, and CN. Official website here.

Race coverage, if available for either of the races, will be listed here.

There's talk of a possible ride in Altona this weekend. I'm heading out there again for the 3rd time in 4 weekends. It might be tough to find a time, but we'll try. Check with Johnny S if you're interested. Hopefully we won't be snowed under by then.
