Chalk Up Another Win for the Dark Side

Our string of 100+ point performances at the cx races is intact. All FGBC'ers finished inside the top 20 on Sunday to contribute to our highest one day total yet--152 points. Meanwhile, RRR also had its best showing of the cx season. They finished just shy of 100 points, with 95. If only Loren hadn't DNF'd. New RRR'ers Michelle and Artur had particularly noteworthy races, finishing 2nd and 5th in their respective fields. This was Artur's very first race. That is impressive. The best thing about all this is that it signals some serious participation. Between the two clubs, we had 17 racers present. There were 55 racers in the A & B races combined. So we contributed almost a third of the overall field. Well done, boys and girls. That is the real purpose of The Challenge.

I thought the real purpose was for them to buy us beer!

agreed.

Cousin Adam...I have your truffles from the race.

Wouldn't it just be easier to buy beer if that was the only reason?

And cheaper?

@ Johnny: Awesome! Thanks, man. I was worried I'd missed out.

@ Kevin: Have you ever noticed how beer someone else pays for just tastes better? I imagine that beer you win as the victory prize in an epic struggle against a mortal adversary will taste EVEN better.

Epic indeed. Nice race Adam. Can't wait for the rematch.

Given Adam's rationale, I wonder if he'll take it to the next level and put a 6 on the line with Brad at the Super Cross.

Sidebets! Alright, how about a six of Belgium's finest? Or at least the best Belgian beer the LC has to offer?

Whoa. Those stakes are higher than what we've been fighting for all year.

A whole six??? Whoa, that is pretty high stakes. Maybe a pint after the race. After one of the grass track races, the Belgian Club had St James Ale on tap for 2 something.

Great to see the rivalry going strong and making the races that much more fun!
