TNR Report

Evenings such as this past Tuesday--wet and rainy ones with thunder and lightning off in the distance--are useful to have every once in a while, if for no other reason than to determine who is for real and who is, well, not.

Who is for real? These guys are:

Who is not? We will leave that to you to figure out. It's really not that hard. But there was one group in particular whose absence from last night's ride was especially noteworthy. RRR skipped the weekly event en masse. Clearly they are a bunch of sissies. So much so that we decided to award each of the four members of the FGBC pictured above 5 points for their bravery and dedication. That brings us to within 10 points of RRR in the FGBC - RRR FGD Challenge.

The ride was sweet, as usual. The presence of cyclocross in all our our minds is definitely on the upswing. With that in mind, we rode around Bruce Park, wondering what the layout of the course will be. It looks like a promising location.

Upon our arrival at the klubhaus, we were pleasantly surprised to find Gianni waiting for us. He was reading a new book. It looks interesting. He promised to supply us with a review when he's done. We were also graced with the loquacious presence of another unexpected visitor.

The conversation was stimulating, even if somewhat meandering. Among other things, we talked about community bike projects, urban gardens, roofing, unemployment rates, the Grass Track Series, the WhitesHELL Enduro, how awesome cyclocross season is going to be, Folk Fest, ultimate, the Tour, and Brad the Impaler.

Good times.

You guys look so cute in that picture. Extra points, eh? That's a great idea.

KK, Ricco and I have decided that we should get extra points for driving out to West Hawk to scout the course on Monday. I didn't notice any FGBC members there, so we each get 50 extra points for that.

Who is for real? Guys who take time off work to go for a ride that's almost two hours away.
