Starcrossed Goodness

I had the pleasure of watching the field at Starcrossed last night. Half the track under the lights of the velodrome and the other half in the dark. It was incredible to watch the strength and speed of the elite men...just like the article below mentions...they traded the lead almost every lap and at least 7 guys were in the lead at some point. Trebon was at or near the front almost the entire time, despite two falls in the rain soaked slippery muck. Heule played his cards perfectly, not challenging for the lead until the last lap, running in third place for most of the race. So nice to have such a venue only 20 minutes from my house. See more here http://cxmagazine.com/heule-jumps-to-star-crossed-2009-victory The US cross championships are in the Pacific Northwest this year. Anyone for a road trip to Bend, Oregon in December?

Charlie C lives just a mountain range away from Bend. I'm sure he would be willing to billet us. Right Charlie?

Are canucks allowed? The field at startcrossed was certainly international. I would think yes (as long as you have purchased the liscence), but one can check the nationals website to see if they are runnign races for elite bikers only. At Starcrossed, they had races starting at 2pm, for all manner of non-elite, local racers. If I had wanted to cough up the money, I could have raced earlier in the day. That hurdle, as well as not having a bike to cross race with.

Yeah, but Starcrossed isn't the national championship. That would seem to be a signifiant difference with respect to this question.
