FYI, the Backyard String Band - the Old Timey band that played a house concert here a few weeks back is playing at the Academy Bar and Eatery (414 Academy) tonight, on their swing back to the west coast. I don't believe there is a cover. Not sure what time the show starts - 8-9ish, prob'ly.
most likely will miss the ride myself, but will make it to the f-n-h around 10:00 - 10:30 for some skanky beer (my niece informed that the fg dark seems to be skanky no matter where you go...)
while not wanting to pry into the identity of said niece... as I know a few of them, I will suggest at this point that the anonymous niece's opinion may not register as valid for purposes of klub discernment... especially since the allegiance for many of us is not so single-minded as to rest completely on "taste" when we register our subjective preferences. for example, what about the fact that we used to remember the name of the guy holding the barrel? this is significant stuff.

skanky tap beer is skanky tap beer, i'll buy mine from a bottle if need be.
association is fine, but if we need to go the way of minute maid park...
i love pickles.
ya, crunchy ones?
ESPECIALLY the crunchy ones.
There was something distrurbingly crunchy in my glass of JD yesterday at the Academy. Not a pickle. I ignored it and was still able to enjoy the rest.
I motion for 25 hard-man points in the cx pool for dr. h consuming the unidentified crunchy thing.
While I'm motioning, how about 50 hard-man points for anyone who ONLY drinks FGD draft at the FnH for the duration of Nordic Cross?
Those are 50 points this soft-guy will give up willingly.
Can I get a second?
tough call there Matt, I might need the pts
