Thursday Anticipation

Plenty to anticipate this week:

Spiral Spectacular = the much anticipated race in our favourite parkade. Get yer climbing legs on. Up the spiral, down the long way. 10 times or so. First race of the post-Nordic Cross season. Be there. As usual, meet at my place, 9:30 pm. Update: Originally scheduled for May 6, this event is postponed until May 13 to accomodate a 50 miler in honour of Colin's 50th birthday next Tuesday. More info to come on that one.

Startlists are starting to come together, if still tentative. I started working on the list of riders and values last night. Will try to get something out by the weekend. It starts a week from Saturday. This is the most exciting and unpredictable of the grand tours, in my opinion. A good one for FGBC Cycling Pool rookies to stretch their legs--especially if you've already received King Andy's primer. You might want to watch Fight Club to figure out your team name. Otherwise I will have to assign you one again.

T minus 4 weeks:

All of a sudden, it feels like it's just around the corner. It's shaping up to be the biggest and best so far. If you haven't done so yet, now would be a good time to arrange to miss work on Friday, if you're able. Expect all the usual highlights, and more. Alberto is talking about introducing a new event for this year's edition. A night lap of Ingolf. So bring lights if you've got some. There might be a few extra sets if you want to give it a go. Other bright or not so bright ideas are welcome as well.

OTT: Tom Waits, Eyeball Kid
