How about a ride out to Little Mountain Park to check out the possibility of a Tuesday night race there? Meeting place? I dunno, I suppose somewhere central is best. Any suggestions?
Being the last TNR before Halloween, I was thinking more along the lines of Death Drive II. But it's your call. What's at Little Mountain anyway? I've only been there once, for an ultimate game on a very windy day, several years ago. That was the sports park, though, not the actual park. I believe the Legends were less than legendary. I'm sure it was Jonny G's fault.
I just got back from a ride at a place called Little River. I didn't see a river. Nor have I seen a mountain at Little Mountain Park.
Being oblivious to most things most of the time, the Halloween tie in didn't occur to me. Little Mountain can wait. A few years back when I was a 'Dad of Mud' we did a club ride there as has Mike G recently with his boy and we both thought it had potential for some fun riding in the dark, that's all. So, is there an established route for Death Drive?
Last year we hit up a bunch of cemetaries. The one by St. John's Cathedral was pretty spooky. Lots of strange noises and a barely visible hooded figure.
I don't suppose you noticed, Mr. Oblivious, that a few of the recent posters are rip-offs of some of my favourite New Yorker covers. Ian Falconer's are always good.
So the death in death ride might include riding down pembina hwy. with the president in tow(fearing for our lives, not actual loss of it). I have a game out at the south end of the city and have just spoken to the president to shore up a meeting place.
We will be meeting at the crossing of bison drive and pembina post class(9:30ish).
From there we would be more than happy to meet up with folks enroute. There is a graveyard around Cresent drive park. We could revisit the Wildwood area. Provincials for cross are there on Saturday. That scares me plenty.
post any thoughts, but I will be out of the house before 7 so post soonish.
Hmmmm. I will be at a meeting at Henderson and the Perimeter till 9:00. I'll have to drive to a meeting place and ditch my car, so maybe we should pick somewhere a bit more central at 10:00-ish where we can meet?
The New Yorker? Probably a lot of big words and concepts in there that I wouldn't understand. I am an uneducated working man after all... My tastes in magazines run more along the lines of free crap I can read online without needing to refer to my dictionary too often.
Hey Imp...give me a call at home tonight if you want to meet up at my place. I'm not too far from Wildwood. If you're on time we shouldn't be that much behind G.
Why don't we meet at that coffee shop at the forks (in the johnson terminal i believe) at around 10? we could check out these cycling lanes dr. h has been blathering about.

And never underestimate the influence you wield over events even from 30 hours away...
