I guess next up is Altona. It's more than just sunflowers and schmaundfat. It's also the home of the sweetest cyclocross course in the world.

I hope to see a lot of the FGBC'ers in Altona on the 19th - The race is sponsored by us so we should represent (and i don't want to loose money).
They ran a nice little promo article for the race in the paper (they did get most of the times wrong - but i'll take the publicity anyway) and they ran a picture of Dr.divisive running up the hill from last years race - I think Chris has been in The Echo more than I have.
Just think about how good the farmer sausage burger and beer will taste when you're suffering on the course - its what keeps me going.
Looking forward to seeing y'all down south.

On the subject of mennonite cyclocross racing, can anyone enlighten me on the details of this year's menno-cross (Deanna says something was posted here earlier but for the life of me I can't find it). I'm trying to keep the Olympia site updated with cx race info, sanctioned or not, and would be happy to include info on menno cross. There's also a slim chance that Deanna and I might actually participate (it might be nice to know just how poor my cardio is right now - or not).

Who won the licence yesterday?
A young fellow from the Trialistics club.I don't have his name, it's with Arlene Woodcock's results. I'll also get a prize over to Johnny's wife, as the first place Female Citizen.

Thanks Dr. H. WRT to the winner of the license yesterday, the guy's name is Chris Graham, who happens to be a good friend of ours. He's a good triathlete, but his background is in competitive swimming, not cycling. He built up a cx bike over the winter but was hesitant to get an MCA license because he already does a lot of the local and national triathlons, so he did this race where a license wasn't required. Looks like he can do the whole season next year. - Scott
my highlight of the weekend was on both days passing riders and having them say " sand bagger". I would immediately apologize then laugh my ass off.

My highlight of the weekend was getting out to race, period. And if I called everybody who passed me a sandbagger, I would be too out of breath to ride.

My highlight was definitely being dropped by Jerad like I was going backwards, then dropped like a wet log by Adrian, then accused of sucking wheel by Hal when I was only hanging on by the skin of my teeth, then toyed with and used for my good looks by Luk before he dumped me for a sweeter ride, then schooled by Dylan as he flew past all smiles and encouragement, then smashing that helpless barrier, the being toyed by Tim with 2 laps to go when there was in fact 3 laps remaining, then lapped by the old lady waking her dog.
The course did not in anyway suit my strength and that made it tough, and I love tough-suffer-until-you-cry-for-your-mommy races.
Bring it on Altona!
