If you're not racing, looking for a relaxing ride, and have any connection whatsoever to Westgate Mennonite Collegiate, you might be interested in joining the Group Ride, Saturday, 10:00am at Birds Hill Park. (sorry, no poster... dr. h? (also alumni))
I count at least 7 persons in our humble collective who are either alumni or are closely connected to the school which has a grand tradition of a fund-raising cyclathon. In the "olden days" it was a century around the main road... I completed it in 1984 in rugby pants on my Woolco Hustler 10-speed. Now it's 100k's around the group use road.
It is Westgate's 50th anniversary, and the annual cyclathon is this weekend, so as part of the weekend celebrations, there is an Anniversary Group Ride around the main road. Register between 10:00 and 10:30am, at which point the ride will start. I've been given to understand that Alberto and Mrs. Dr. will be leading us around the ring. If you want to donate $50 and ride 50k's, you will receive a special, limited edition 50-50-50 T-Shirt.
I know Tenacious V and I will be in attendance... If only I could find my rugby pants.

Sounds like fun. Please pass along my regrets to the folks at Westgate. Are they thinking this is an annual thing, or just this once for the anniversary?
I think it's just this once... do you have any rugby pants I could borrow?
I've been trying to remember what rugby pants are. I have a vague recollection of the term, but can't put an image to it. Can you help me out? In any case, they do sound perfect for a 50 km ride.

Hey eveyone. It seems that the Assiniboine dirt trails and our park with the figure eight race track are used for more than Fort Garry Bike Club rides. Check out Quinzy's newest video on their my space page. Myspace.com/Quinzy
