We need more of these.

Here is one for Dallas.

Yes, we do. I was thinking along those lines last year with the Pembina Hell idea. Start and finish in Morden with as many times up and down the valley as possible. That didn't come to fruition on account of the basement reno from hell. Nor will it this year, since my focus will be on the WhitesHELL enduro. Maybe 2010. It's more Eroica than Paris-Roubaix. But Prairie-Roubaix has a nice ring to it.

Apparently there already is a Prairie-Roubaix. In fact, there appear to be several. We'll stick with Pembina Hell.

Thinking of maybe doing a spring training ride in the Pembina Valley sometime late March or early April (sorry dr.). It would not be a race, more of a group ride with sprints thrown in for good measure.

keep us in the loop...

Those hills are meant for racing. But if you insist on riding, you better do it right. That route has L'Eroica written all over it.

hmmmm...point well taken.

thinking out loud here...the ride/race will involve wine, bread, and each rider must ride with spare tyres criss-crossed across their back and shoulders - no camel backs. mountain bikes will not be permitted, but will be allowed if the rider does not have a road bike (they will however, be looked down upon with disdain). i am going to talk to james about using tinker as the start finish for this. it might even be good to do this for the first weekend in may when the weather is a little nicer...

That sounds better. And the first week of May sounds perfect. I am back on April 22 or 23. So the last weekend of April would work too. Right on.

if by "last week in April" you mean 25/26, Naomi's off...I'll bring the moustache wax

I am into that (with the expectation of the wine-cheese thing), especially if there is a high degree of meaningless suffering involved.
