burger quest
some of the discussion at last night's meeting revolved around whether vj's burger was good or not - maybe we should plan the next few rides around trying different burgers. the idea is each tuesday night someone puts forth their choice for favourite burger, we ride to the stand/restaurant, sample the burger, then retire to the fnh to discuss the nuances of that burger. the ride for the evening could be just to that burger joint or part of a larger ride.

My favourite burger--ever--is the veggie burger from Elmo's diner on 9th St. in Durham, NC. I'd love it if we could ride there to see if they are as good as I remember them. And some sweet tea would be nice too.
Maybe you've stumbled on a theme for your next alleycat--burgercat.
I'm not averse to visiting different burger joints, but I hope we get to do some significant riding as well.

maybe we can make this a spring project - don't have to do the burger ride every tuesday, but occasionally make it the focus of the ride. we can survey the group (i'll take care of the this) and post the results. this would be a way of giving back to the community by posting our opinion of the best burger in town. of course if we want to be true to who we are we would be surveying dogs.
back in my meat-eating days me, my older bro and neighbour would occasionally go on what we called a "Burger Bonanza". We hit up all the major restaurants and tried their 'signature burger' (i.e. Whopper @ Burger King, Big Mac @ McDonalds etc) Something like 6 burgers over the course of a 30-40 minutes (we weren't on bikes, and we kept to the drive thru)
I guess what I'm gettin at, is that you should all pick one burger you think is best and then hit 'em all up in one giant night of deliciousness and sore stomachs.
...that is, assuming you're not chicken! BWAKBAKBAK BAK.

did not know that there was an election called.
usually presidents call such things but since we are what we are I will accept the call for an election and nominate Hal on the basis of his work on the burgercat.
Wondering.... can presidents enact bylaws regarding "colors"
