Canada Day ride
Magnificent ride last night. Jonny G, Unger, the president, the secretary and myself. A sendoff ride of sorts for the Secretary, who's flying to Berlin tomorrow to kickoff a three week European vacation. Caught the end of the JP Hoe set at Old Market Square, corkscrewed up and down our favourite parking garage, meandered through a swarm of enthusiastic and fireworks sated patriots at the Forks, before heading back to NK once more on the long way home. Still 20 degrees at 1am when we ran into Olympia John driving a hot white Caddy in front of Portage Place. Sweet.
As usual, the ride was not without incidents. Most significantly, the secretary's suicide fixie became unfixed. And the president was, well, the president, almost totalling his recently repaired hand-me-down Colnago in a brief but heated encounter with a gravel filled rut and some chainlink fence along the Kildonen Park Golf Course. This time, fortunately, he managed to pull out of it and keep the rubber side down.
Another reminder that if things ever do come together for the FGBC Moab trip, the president should likely be confined to the condo. With balance issues like he has, you never know:

hmm
very concerning indeed.
The Big Lebowski would simply clarify that
"Penner, your out of your F%@#&% element"
the condo seems fine at this point.
