At least in the sense that he doesn't like the hills. The 4th Cat. climb at the end of today's stage was enough to do him in. He got spit out the back in a hurry when the road went up. But it didn't seem to do much to impede Oscar Freire, Leonardo Duque, and Erik Zabel. They're the top three finishers in this final stage before the mountains. Yes, the Alps are finally on the horizon. The guns are drawn and the lines in the sand have been drawn too. It's showdown time at the 2008 TdF. CSC vs. Cadel Evans. Bring it on.

In the FGBC TdF Pool, Team Runner Up is not exactly living up to its name. With another stage win, it looks like they're now setting it up for Andy or Arlene-style pool domination. Their lead has now stretched to over 300 points. Powered By Veggies and Team Toulouse were 2nd and 3rd on the day. Zed's Dead, Baby remains 2nd overall. But Los Lobos Soundcheck disaster, holding down 3rd place for the last three days, has slipped a bit. They drop down to 6th place, having been elbowed off the last podium step by Tenacious V's Team Toulouse. The Poison Ivy Weedwackers retain the lanterne rouge. But Turn Up the Good, Turn Down the Suck and Don't Stop to Smell the Flowers are right there wiating in the wings.
