The Sacking of Troy

A long time ago in a faraway land, a city called Troy seemed to have everything going for it. But it got a little bit too cocky and eventually it was time for Troy to receive its comeuppance. Things did not end well for Troy. But Justice, she was left smiling like Germaine, the 66 year old podium girl at E3 Harelbeke, after she got to kiss Tom Beans.

There are some among us who think it's time for Troy to receive some comeuppance in the 2012 FGBC Spring Classics Pool. Troy won his first race of the season yesterday at Harelbeke. He had 800 points, thanks to Boonen, Duque, and Degenkolb, and finished easily ahead of Kim and Mike G. But the bigger story is in the overall standings, where Troy now leads King Andy by 840 points. Needless to say, the King is not impressed. So watch out Troy. If you see a large wooden horse galloping across the horizon, it might be a good idea to run for cover.

Gent - Wevelgem goes down on Sunday. King Andy needs to make a statement. It should be interesting to watch.

Full results and overall standings here.

Thousands of years ago the innocent Trojans were sacked by the devious Spartans. But the Age of Troy has returned! The opportunities for the modern day Sparticus to dethrone me are running out. I would suggest that you urge Cancellara to pull out his motor assisted steed if you want any chance of closing the gap. And as for the beautiful Helen of Troy I have traded her in for a more voluptuous model, Germaine of Harlebeke. Germaine has taken the stage and ladies and gentleman, the fat lady is about to sing.

Olli, that was a mistake. Sorry about that. It's fixed now.

Troy, watch your back. There are three more monuments left. The fat lady hasn't even started warming up her vocal chords yet.
