1) Only 10 more days until The Big One.
Johnny S has all kinds of treats in store that will be sure to enhance your racing and spectating pleasure. Yes, it will be awesome. But if you still need more convincing, there will be Southern Cross IPA on hand for the post-race good times. What more could you want?
2) This weekend is the last chance to get everything dialed in before the one race that really matters. It promises to be spectacular in its own right. Frites and mayo, Belgian ale, the mud bog, and more. Good times guaranteed.
The weather looks to be cooperating too:
3) Perogie Cross serves up the official Southern Cross pre-race meal and also provides an opportunity to loosen up the legs for the next day.
4) Altona sets the bar so high that a whole series of posters is required to promote the race that follows it. Not to mention some super sweet draw prizes! They also have their very own website.
(Complete TRP EuroX Magnesium brake set.
Retail value with taxes about $450)

the third cross-tastic poster is just not right. the way the rider is contorted - they must be from cirque du soleil
The image of the rider is accurate. I wondered if anyone would notice what an absolutely crazy contorsion it was. The caption originally read 'There will be pain' to signify the pain of the effort as much as anything, but that seemed a little harsh to me.
I am bummed that yet again I will be away when Southern Cross takes place. We (Cross-Tastic) definitely have our work cut out for us to match the tremendous show at CMU.
I picked some lovely draw prizes from long-time Olympia Club member Marty Halprin yesterday. His shop - Celia's Jewellery on Osborne - donated a swish Bulova watch, a titanium ring and a really cool (guy's) titanium bracelet.
Anyone who rides the Supercross is eligible to win these, as are race volunteers.

The 'cross organisers are completely over the top with prizes and organisation this year. Marty always seems to step up to the plate.
And how about the 1-year supply of perogies at world cross? Beat that!
Seriously, it is a year suppply, to be doled out month by month.
PS - we are still taking reservations for the slavic overnight winter experience. experience 6-star accomodations in a rustic, rural slavic atmosphere!
last minute things have popped up on my end and I won't be at either supercross or altona.
Dallas " I'm gonna have to make puke piles some other way the next few weeks."" Sigurdur
That sucks Dallas. We will miss you.
Totally off topic, and very unlikely, but does anyone have a trainer they won't need this winter? To borrow, rent or sell?
wv: prood
you shouldn't have a problem filling your basement with trainers complete with a few years of gathered dust on them Brad. You can borrow mine if you want to go that route. I should be at Belgian cross (racing for the prime).
Fantastic. Thanks Tim. I'll be there racing you racing for the prime.
