Some of us got to thinking about putting together a FGBC sock order from either Sock Guy, Defeet or Champ-Sys. How many pre-orders we get may determine who we go with in the end, but I'd love to hear about brand/material preference - especially if not one of the above - and the number of pairs you think you might pick up.
Think in the neighbourhood of $10 a pair. Maybe a couple of bucks more if we go wool.

Sock Guy or De Feet would probably be nicer. I'd be in for 10 pairs.

We got ChampSys socks for Bull City Cycling. They're alright, but I'd probably recommend another brand. Material is similar to Sock Guy (not as meshy as DeFeet), but with taller cuffs. Note that they run large--I wear a somewhat narrow 10.5 and the mediums were almost too big. I think they do have low minimums, though.
Defeet or Sock Guy (I have Defeet and like them, no experience with SockGuy). Both do custom wool. If we are getting wool, I'm good for 10 pairs at least; if not, maybe 1 or 2 pairs - I really only wear wool socks.

I think we're going to see if they can knit the bottle-cap logo into cuff of the sock. If it's too complex, then yeah, maybe a black sock with red stripe and FGBC in white.

I have a few pairs of wooleators that have maintained (most of) their integrity for over 5 years. But they should be replaced, so I would definitely purchase some. I agree with cousin adam.

now this is a practical idea. we have the right man as vp of appearance. identifying my socks in the evil sock wasteland is disheartening at best. I am seeing sweet darkness at the end of the tunnel.

I'll buy a pair or two to wear down here in Durham and proudly support the purveyors of Vicarious Racing. (especially since some of my super huge ChampSys socks are being converted into shoe-covers). Wool is Cool!

my word, the sock banter has been excellent in my absence. I would certainly not consider less than 5 pair. Put me down for that, and I may be available to help bridge up close to the end.

I would then potentially be able to double-up my feet with the same sock twice on each foot. Get it?
