El Presidente's Winning Strategy

He wanted to go with an all Spanish team, but was prevented from doing so due to the fact that there were no Spanish riders included in the list of ITTers. So he went with eight Spaniards and one German. It finally paid off today, as his two GC men--Contador and J-Rod--broke free of the pack and took the top two spots. So Swatty gets 275 points and his first stage win of the 2010 FGBC TdF Pool. We had a three-way tie for second place. Jonny B, Joshua, and Melissa all finished with 225 points.

No change to the top three in the overall race. But look who has moved into 4th overall. Ricco is no doubt leading some to dream of the possibility of an RRR sweep of the podium. That's okay. We could handle that. It is, after all, not yet September. So there is no need to panic. If this were the 2010 FGBC Vuelta Espana Pool, or perhaps the brand new FGBC Fall Classics Pool, then we might have cause to worry. But it's not. We will no doubt lose July, just like we lost May and June. But we will stick with the game plan, if only because we don't have anything else in the offing. It's cx or bust for the FGBC this year.
