That did not exactly play out as expected. A lot of the big favourites fizzled, including Troy's highly regarded tandem of J-Rod and Gerrans. King Andy won the race. But it was not because of his Ardennes guys so much as Jelle Vanendert, who finished second to Enrico Gasparotto. Gasparotto appears on exactly zero teams in the 2012 FGBC Spring Classics Pool. Andy had 395 points on the day and now has a 320 point lead on Troy with just two races to go. The Halfrican, the Tenor, and I finished in a three way tie for second. The Halfrican is now just 20 points back of Troy's second place overall and is arguably within striking distance of King Andy as well. But it doesn't help him that Sagan won't be participating in any more spring races. And if Vic is not careful, he will catch Ali and end up not finishing last.

Back at it on Wednesday at Fleche Wallone.
