Starlene!

It was Charlene's turn to shine today. With Cavendish, Van Hummel, and Mondory picking up points, she takes stage 10 with a 295 point day. The win moves her up into the top 10 for the first time since the race began. She currently occupies 8th spot in the GC. She's no longer just a phenom with the frisbee. Now she can reckon herself a vicarious racing superstar as well. James weaseled his way to a second place finish today. He had 250 points on the stage. With that smug, self-satisfied grin on his face you'd think he won. But he didn't. He's just a weasel and that's the way weasels look. The third podium step today was a tad crowded. Five teams with 225 points apiece squeezed themselves onto the last step. Another three teams, including President Penner's, were clamoring to get up there as well. But they came up just 5 points short of reaching the podium.

In the overall race, the leaders have flip-flopped once again. Melissa is back on top and Andy has slid into second place. The gap is just 25 points. Brad the Impaler has been knocked off the podium once again. This time it's Greg, the Lunchbucket Kid, who pushed the grumpy old man from RRR off of the bottom podium step. Greg is 172 points behind Melissa and eager to show that his impressive showing in the 2009 FGBC Giro d'Italia Pool was no fluke. But Brad is just 13 points back and, judging by the steam coming out of his ears, is looking to regain his spot among the top three.

It pains me to point this out, but there is not a single FGBC'er in the top 20 right now. RRR, on the other hand, has 4 teams in the top 20 and 3 in the top 10. Good thing we are a second-half team.

In the overall race, Cavendish won his third stage of the race. Yawn. Hushovd and Farrar were second and third. Boonen was once again nowehere to be seen. What is your problem Tommeke? Maybe he missed his radio. After all that fuss about wanting to ride the Tour, you'd think he'd have something to show for it by now. What a disaster. No change on the GC. For the rest of the story, head on over to Pez.
