TNR Report

Another sweet turnout: Matt, the Impaler, the Rookie, Halberto, Colin, Bill, KK, Jonny G, Tenacious V, Cousin Adam, the Secretary, and me.

Things started off nice and slow, with chit chat and 50 (thanks Matt) in the porch, while waiting for the latecomers to arrive. Eventually we rode over to the Secretary's place where, among other things, KK learned that his old high school locker mate is the President's wife, the First Lady of the FGBC. Wierd.

For the second week in a row, someone hit the deck. Last week Craig was the main casualty of a minor incident during the miss and out race. Yesterday Matt went down. Hard. Deep in conversation with Vic, it appears he struck a curb with his pedal. He did a rather impressive horizontal 360 before coming to rest in the middle of the road. There will be bruises.

On the way back to the clubhouse, we stopped in briefly at the Sargeant Park skate park, where the Secretary showed off his impressive fixie trix. With his eyes closed, no less!

At this point, some thought the ride too slow and elected to proceed directly to the clubhouse. It was also at this point that Matt left us and headed home. I hope that went well. Others stopped in at Garbage Hill, where KK took king of the hill honours ahead of me and Bill.

Cousin Adam only stuck around for the trip to the Secretary's. But he was present long enough to report a fifth place finish in the Tuesday Night Crit--his first ever road race, I believe. Nice work Adam. Most importantly, that's 18 more points for the FGBC in the FGBC - RRR FGD Challenge. Next up on that score is the Grass Track Race this Friday.

There was some conversation at the clubhouse. Some of it even stimulating. The Secretary was listening carefully. Perhaps he share what he heard.

Hope you're not feeling too sore today, Matt. That was quite the tumble.

I'm a big bag o' pain. Bruises should be blooming soon, but it's the pulled groin muscle that's the gift that keep on giving.
